Frequently Asked Questions on the Shia Council |
|
|
|
What is the purpose behind a Shia Council?
The simple answer is that we as a Shia Muslim community need to unite. No one can realistically deny this fact. A Shia Council would endeavour to represent the interests and welfare of all Shia Muslim organisations irrespective of ethnicity, political inclination or nationality, but by our ultimate identity, followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his Purified Progeny, the Ahlul Bayt (pbut). A Shia Council would endeavour to unify, develop and enhance our community such, that its members recognise and aid one another, becoming an integral community that is able to contribute not only to its own progression, but also to that of society in general.
Which organisations are supporting this project?
A large number of organisations around the country are supporting this project. The interim working committee is working tirelessly to contact organisations to inform them of this project and so far all organisations have been very supportive of this endeavour. If you wish to support this project, please contact us and we'll be happy to welcome you on board.
Why should we believe that this project will succeed, when previous efforts have failed?
Quite simply, we believe in consultation with every organisation in the United Kingdom , irrespective of size. It is these organisations, especially those at grassroots level, which will decide the make up of the Council and subsequently the electoral course.
So what's the next move?
Send us your feedback by filling in our nationwide consultation document. This is a unique opportunity for you to give us your feedback on various important issues. Please remember that your participation is vital to this consultation process, as your views and suggestions will help shape any future unified umbrella organisation to represent Shia Muslims in the United Kingdom . Should you need any further information about this project, or require assistance in completing the consultation document, please feel free to contact us. |
